How much does it cost to sell on Afrikrea.com?

Opening your shop is entirely free, you pay only if you sell, and only 10%. For more information, click on Selling on Afrikrea.

In which country and with which currency can i sell?

You can open a shop wherever you are in the world, sell your products in €, £ or $, and withdraw funds in most countries of the world. Buyers will potentially come from all over the world, so you will need corresponding delivery terms also.

Even in Africa?

So yes, you can sell your designs even if you are located in Africa!

By the way , the biggest seller on the platform is based in Dakar , Sénégal ;)

To withdraw the funds however, you have several possible solutions:

  • on your bank account in Africa, if your country is not in the list of prohibited countries (for regulatory reasons, such as increased fraud..)
  • on any bank account in Europe of your choice, if you have one
  • by PayPal , when that solution is available , normally once a week

If you do not own an account in Europe or the USA, we can withdraw the funds for you and transfer them to you manually, with additional time and transfer fees.

Can I sell on Afrikrea even if I’m not african?

Yes, absolutely.

On Afrikrea, only the products must be inspired by Africa, meeting one or more of the following conditions to be allowed:

  • Fashion, art or handicraft categories (hair and beauty products are not allowed for the moment)
  • Either be made of African materials of origin or of use, whether it is the fabrics, pearls, patterns or other components of the product
  • Or have a message or meaning clearly related to Africa or to the “Afro” culture
  • Or to be conceived by a designer/seller of African origin, nationality or descent

Should I be handling the deliveries? How does it work for international orders?

Indeed, on Afrikrea.com, each designer is responsible for sending and tracking products once the order has been validated.

By default, when creating your shop, we offer average rates according to various areas of the world (your country, region, then the rest of the world). However, it is imperative that each seller confirms the delivery costs that they wish to apply depending on the country and the delivery methods, as well as if necessary, for each product.

You can specify two shipping costs for each item:

  1. Shipping if the item is shipped alone
  2. Shipping if the item is shipped with other items from your shop
  3. If you do not want to make a 'special bulk order' price, just put the same amount

For rates, you can find the prices on the website of each service (La Poste, DHL, etc. ..) you want to use to send your package.

For example, to help you determine the costs in France for "La Poste", we invite you to visit the website of La Poste.

Don’t worry, the Afrikrea.com team remains by your side to assist you in case of difficulties to estimate or apply best selling practices.

Does Afrikrea apply a selection or a filter over the items sold on the platform?

In general, Afrikrea does not apply any filter or selection over the products. Each seller is free to open his or her shop and sell his or her items, as long as they respect the Terms. We just regulalrly highlight the products that get the most traction from the visitors and the products of new designers.

In case of non-compliance with these Terms, the product may be deactivated and if it happens again, the entire shop of the designer will be taken down.

However, once the products are authorized and online on the platform, they are displayed according to an algorithm that takes into account several criteria:

  • novelty of the product
  • success: number of orders or likes
  • usage of an avatar (shop photo)
  • visuals and professionalism: the Afrikrea team will be manually picking and highlighting the items whose images and sellers are respecting our online sales practices
  • In addition we occasionally feature products in specific selections based on quality of the listing

The sellers can at any time improve their positioning on these criteria and contact the Afrikrea team to do so, we’ll be delighted to help!

How can I be a part of the Afrikrea community events?

In order to participate in events with Afrikrea discounts or assistance, you must first open your shop on Afrikrea.com.
